    Your coach is always there for you no matter what. So, don’t hesitate to ask him to evaluate your season. He will have no problem if that’s for you to improve. Revise what you did well and what you need to improve so that you can work on it during the break.

  1. Practice Game-Specific Moves
    Practice makes the master, they say. Practicing technic, and game-specific moves will help you improve enormously. This entails not only the move itself but flexibility, agility, speed, and power. It will also depend on in which position you play (shooting guard, small forward, power forward, point forward, albeit, and power).

You might be wondering what, exactly, specific moves should you practice, right? Well, some of the most important moves to practice are euro step, jab-step, and in-and-out dribble.

  1. Work Through All Three Planes of Motion
    There are five primary angles of motion: decline, incline, vertical, overhead and horizontal. You must work through as many angles as possible: side to side, front to back, rotating, twisting, etc.

Training this way is very easy, although it may sound Greek to you. How? Easy. Pick some traditional exercises like step-ups and lunges, and try different ranges of motion (crossover, step behind, backward, forward).

  1. Be Consistent
    Consistency is, probably, one of the hardest things to achieve for anybody. But as much as it is hard it is essential. Consistency is the basis for improvement.  How can you be consistent?   First of all, create a training schedule and stick to it. Set your goals. Decide what you want to improve and what is a priority over the rest of the things. Setting up your goals will also help you to be consistent.
  1. Take A Break!
    I know I have been telling you throughout the whole article to keep practicing not to lose skills during the offseason. But resting is as important, if not more, as training. Your body needs to recover. Your mind needs to reset. There’s no more productive player than a rested one.
