Last time, we talked about the importance of offensive
rebounding... in particular how second chance points can overcome a
bad shooting night.

Well, today we're going to talk about ways to prevent bad shooting
performances... or at least reduce their frequency.

It's proven that teams that practice "Game-Situation" shooting
drills shoot a better percentage than teams that simply practice
stationary shooting drills.

So, that's why we've gotten NCAA Coach Bennie Seltzer to allow us
to reveal one of his great "Game-situation" Shooting drills:

*Layup, Elbow, Corner*

1. Player starts at the half court corner on the right side with
the ball (where the half court line meets the sideline).

2. Player sprints to the basket for a right handed lay-up. The
coach/Partner grabs the ball out of the basket.

3. After making the lay-up, the player continuous through and
performs a curl-cut at the elbow for a catch and shoot.

4. After the shot, the player slides towards the corner for another
catch and shoot.

5. After the shot, the player back-peddles towards the half court
line.

6. Once he reaches in between the half court line and the three
point line he sprints towards the basket for a catch-and-shoot left
handed layup.

7. After the left handed lay-up the player continues through and
performs a curl cut at the elbow for another catch and shoot.

8. After the shot, the player slides towards the corner for another
catch and shoot.

9. After the shot, the player back-peddles towards the half court
line.

10. Once he reaches in between the half court line and the three
point line he sprints towards the basket for a catch-and-shoot
right handed layup.

11. The drill repeats until player performs 4 cycles on each side.

12. Drill ends with player making 1 free-throw

This is really a great drill to start implementing during practice.
