Dear Coach,

Drills are the backbone of every practice.

Without'em you're left with a bunch of guys simply
hangin' out...not improving...and showing the same
weaknesses.

The only way to improve is to use drills that are
fun and challenging...

...and get your players *game-ready* and pumped
to perform.

Later on, we'll reveal specific things that you
can show your players so they can dominate
the low-post and get a TON of points in the paint...

Dominating the paint is where the BigMoney Is...

But for today, we're going to start with something a
bit more "fundamental"...

We're going to help your players improve their passing
skills in the open court...

They become good at passing in the open-court...you get
a lot of easy buckets...its a good deal.

So here goes a great passing drill you should use:

1) This is a full court 3 on 3 drill. You
divide the floor into 3 lanes.

2) 3 players are on offense, and 3 players
are on defense. You need a total of 6 players.

3) One player has the ball in the middle of the
floor. The other 2 players on offense take the
outside lanes.

4) Each player stays in the same lane the
entire drill. You want to advance the
basketball against the defensive players
without turning it over.

5) After each catch you're allowed one dribble.
You can't use skip (long) passes. You can't use
lob (overhead) passes. The only passes allowed
are strong chest passes and crisp bounce passes.

FOCUS POINTS:

Offensive players should meet the
basketball.

The defensive players should talk on
defense ("ball", "help", "deny", etc).

Add some sort of point system. If the
offense scores, they receive 1 point. If the
defense forces a turnover, they receive 1 point
and possession of the basketball.

First team to a certain number of points
wins. Losers run.
---------------------

As you can see, this is a highly effective
passing drill that teaches your players
how to make good passes under defensive pressure...

This is the key...

...good passes under defensive pressure.

But at the same time, it teaches the defensive
players to defend the fast-break and anticipate
how to steal a pass.

Its all about GAME-TIME drills that help your
players improve quickly.
